Privacy Policy
Last updated 19 August 2026
This is a personal professional website. It does not use advertising, behavioural analytics or marketing cookies.
1. Who is responsible for your information
Kim G. von Arx is the controller of personal information handled directly through this website. Questions or requests may be sent to kim@vonarx.ca.
2. Information that may be processed
The website may process limited information in three circumstances:
- Ordinary visits. The hosting and security infrastructure may process technical request data such as IP address, browser type, timestamps and security signals.
- Private access. If you use the website’s sign-in service, the website may receive your authenticated email address and, where available, your name. This is used to authenticate you and determine whether you are on the invitation list.
- Direct communications. If you contact Kim, the information in your message and the details needed to respond will be processed.
3. Why the information is used
Technical and sign-in information is used to provide, secure and control access to the website. Communications are used to respond to professional enquiries and continue relevant conversations. These activities are undertaken on the basis of legitimate interests in operating a secure professional website and, where relevant, taking steps at your request before entering into a professional relationship.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
This website does not use advertising or non-essential analytics cookies. The hosting and sign-in services may use technologies that are strictly necessary for security, authentication and session management. Their own privacy notices govern information they process independently.
5. Sharing and international processing
Information is not sold. Limited information may be processed by service providers supplying website hosting, infrastructure security and authentication. Those providers may process information outside the UK under the arrangements described in their privacy notices. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights.
6. Retention
Invitation and authentication records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to manage and secure private access. Email addresses remain on the invitation list until access is removed. Professional correspondence is retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the conversation, relationship, record-keeping or applicable legal requirements.
7. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to processing or request portability. Contact kim@vonarx.ca to make a request. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the website or its information practices change. The current version and effective date will appear on this page.
