This is a private, invitation-only portfolio. It carries no advertising, it is not part of any advertising or analytics network, and it is not a commercial website.

The short version

This site uses a small number of strictly necessary technologies, and almost all of them only once you sign in. They exist to keep you signed in, to remember that you have seen the cookie notice, and to keep the private content away from anyone who has not been invited. There are no advertising cookies, no marketing cookies, no social media cookies and no third-party trackers of any kind.

Because everything in use is strictly necessary to deliver a service you have asked for, or to keep an invitation-only site secure, no consent banner is required under regulation 6(4) of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003. There is no opt-out, because there is nothing optional here: switching these off would simply mean you could not sign in.

3. Access record

Because this is an invitation-only site, access to it is recorded against the account that was invited. While the private pages are open in your browser, the site sends a short signal to the server so that the record stays accurate.

This is access control and security, not analytics. It is not a cookie, nothing further is stored on your device as a result, and it is never used for advertising, profiling across other websites, or any commercial purpose.

What this site does not do

No Google Analytics, and no other third-party analytics product.
No advertising, retargeting or conversion pixels.
No social media buttons or embedded feeds that set cookies.
No device fingerprinting and no cross-site tracking.
No profiling, and no tracking of anyone who is not a signed-in invited guest.
No sharing or sale of personal data to anyone.
Fonts are served from this domain, not called from a third-party font service.

Server logs

The hosting provider records standard technical information about each request, including IP address, browser type and the time of the request. This is used to operate and secure the site and to investigate misuse. It is not linked to any marketing or advertising profile. These records are held on the server. They are not cookies and nothing is stored on your device as a result.

Links to other sites

This page links out to LinkedIn and to academic publishers. Those organisations set their own cookies once you arrive on their sites, and their policies apply there rather than this one.

Controlling cookies

You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. There is nothing to opt out of here, because everything in use is strictly necessary: blocking the authentication session will stop you signing in, because the site has no other way to recognise that you have. If you would rather your access record was removed, ask and your access can be revoked and the entry archived or deleted.

This policy covers cookies only. The separate privacy notice explains what personal data is processed when you are given access to this site and when you make contact.
